A lot has been written in
the news media about the state of peace and tranquility in contemporary
Nigeria, including a phenomenon known as ethnic cleansing and sporadic deadly
assaults on communities said to be populated predominantly by persons of
Christian faith. What is really going on in Nigeria? Should we be worried? Instead
of me proffering an answer or attempting to offer or suggest an answer to that existential
question, I thought it much more useful for you to find out or deduce an answer
for yourself by watching this interview of Professor Iyorwuese Hagher:
IMPORTANT MATTERS is a blog through which Professor Victor Oguejiofor Okafor offers punditry on local, national, international and global issues of the day. Amazing Knowledge of GeoPolitical Africa!
In a contemporary, technology-rich and
technologically-savvy world, which, nonetheless, in some places, still appears
to be handicapped by wide-spread ignorance and distorted information about Africa, it's heart-warming to behold this sterling degree and display of expertise on Africa's geopolitical map. This YouTube presentation (see the link below) rekindles my memory of an
undergraduate studies experience of mine at Indiana University, Bloomington,
Indiana, years ago, during which I took a course on “World History” whereby the
professor required us to fill-in empty maps of Africa with specific names of
African countries as part of each of the closed-book examinations that he
administered on us! I commend and salute the author of this brilliant YouTube
presentation. Please, watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBShVSaxejU&feature=share
